Digital Zoom Extender extends the throw distance beyond the optical range, letting installers reuse existing ceiling mounts. Digital Image Shift moves the image up to 10% in any direction for fine positioning. A built-in gyro sensor displays the projector's pitch and roll angles graphically in the OSD menu, so a single installer can align the projection angle accurately without assistance.

The upgraded Screen Adjustment suite features a new graphical user interface that simplifies geometry correction via remote control, with no connected PC required. Curved Correction now adjusts each side of the image independently — a significant improvement over previous models where opposite sides moved together — making it ideal for curved screens in sports simulators, museum exhibits, and corporate displays. DIGITAL LINK, based on HDBaseT, transmits video, audio, and control signals over a single CAT 5e cable, simplifying cabling in schools, offices, and venues. A dedicated LAN terminal supports IPv6, Art-Net DMX, PJLink (Class 2), Crestron Connected V2, Crestron XiO Cloud, and Extron XTP, with an emulation function for legacy software compatibility. Data cloning copies settings from a master projector to up to 99 sub-projectors via LAN or USB, saving significant setup time across large installations. HDMI CEC support enables automatic power on/off and input switching from compatible source devices.

The VMZ82 Series' laser light source operates for approximately 20,000 hours without maintenance — far outlasting lamp-based projectors that may require multiple replacements over the same period, while also eliminating mercury lamp disposal. The ECO Filter uses a Micro-Cut electrostatic filter to capture fine dust particles, and its recommended replacement interval matches the laser lifetime at around 20,000 hours in typical commercial environments. If cleaning is needed earlier, the filter can be washed and reused up to twice, reducing both cost and waste. Together, the laser source and ECO Filter minimize downtime and total cost of ownership across your entire fleet.

The VMZ82 Series is 27% more energy efficient than the previous VMZ71 Series, generating 21.2 lumens per watt in NORMAL mode. Auto Power On activates the projector from standby the moment an input signal is detected, while Image Detection dims or cuts the light source when no change is detected in the projected image for a set period — brightness resumes seamlessly when activity restarts. Quick Startup delivers full brightness in about one second from standby, and Direct Power Off allows shutdown via the room breaker without a cooldown cycle. The built-in scheduling feature automates power on/off, shutter control, and input selection throughout the week. The projector body incorporates approximately 59% recycled resin by plastic weight, and foam packaging has been replaced with recyclable cardboard, reducing waste across the product lifecycle.
