The RQ7 Series integrates with Panasonic's ET-FMP50 Series media processors to cut through the complexity of large-scale multi-projection setups. Available in box-type and as a function board for the projector's Intel® SDM-compatible SLOT, these processors deliver automatic camera-based warping and blending alongside 4K media playback. Compatible cameras (sold separately) include Nikon® D5200, D5300, D5500, D5600, D7500, and Z50, making alignment and calibration faster and more accurate across the entire projection surface.

An Intel® SDM standard-compatible SLOT opens the RQ7 Series to a wide range of optional proprietary and third-party function boards, making it straightforward to adapt your signal infrastructure as your installation evolves. Whether you need to expand inputs, add streaming capability, or integrate with a specific signal chain, the SLOT gives you the flexibility to scale without replacing the projector. Note: all transmissions to the slot must use HDMI™ signal. Third-party device operation is not guaranteed by Panasonic.

The Smart Projector Control app lets one person manage up to 64 projectors from a smartphone or tablet — ideal when OSD projection isn't an option. Functions include test pattern selection, shutter control, Web Control UI access, lens and brightness adjustment, and focus tuning via the device camera from up to 30 m (98 ft) away. Quick connection via QR code scanning eliminates the need to enter passwords or SSIDs manually, dramatically reducing setup time on busy event days.

Standard dynamic contrast control operates independently per projector, causing visible step-noise at blend zones due to APL variations between units. Panasonic's Contrast Sync resolves this by averaging the APL across all projectors in the system, producing a seamless multi-screen image. The RQ7 Series is the first Panasonic projector to support Contrast Sync via LAN only, removing the need for serial cable connections and reducing overall system complexity. Shutter timing across all sub-projectors is also synchronized with the main unit, ensuring consistent fade-in and fade-out across the full projection.

The RQ7 Series ships with preactivated upgrade kit licenses for Geo Pro software, including the ET-UK20 Geometry Manager Pro Software Upgrade Kit for advanced line, shape, and bitmap masking, and the ET-CUK10 Auto Screen Adjustment Upgrade Kit for automated edge-blending with brightness, color, and black-level correction via camera. Two identical signals can be fed simultaneously to HDMI™ 1 (Primary) and HDMI™ 2 (Backup). If the primary feed drops, the projector switches to the backup input automatically in as little as 0.3 seconds — without blanking the screen. This built-in redundancy is invaluable at live events, exhibitions, and any installation where image interruption is not acceptable. Primary and backup terminals are fixed, and both input signals must be identical for seamless failover.

The RQ7 Series optical engine and laser light source meet the IP5X Dust Protected standard (IEC 60529), eliminating the need for a filter and enabling up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. Reliability is validated through accelerated dust-chamber testing under conditions significantly harsher than those used for many competing products. Laser failover circuitry further protects brightness: if a single diode in a module fails, the circuitry continues supplying power to the remaining functional diodes, minimizing any visible brightness loss rather than shutting down the entire module.
