The Digital Zoom Extender allows the LMZ460 to project at the correct image size even when the projector cannot be moved closer to the screen — extending throw distance beyond the optical zoom range without changing the mounting position. This saves costly construction work when updating an existing installation. The new Digital Image Shift function adds a further layer of flexibility: using the remote control, you can shift the projected image up to 10% up or down and 10% left or right to compensate for ceiling obstacles such as light fittings or air-conditioning vents. Note: resolution decreases when using Digital Zoom Extender. Some screen correction functions are unavailable when these features are active, corner adjustment range is limited, and image size is reduced to 80% when Digital Image Shift is enabled. Laser projection eliminates the maintenance cycle that defines lamp-based ownership. Both the light source and ECO Filter are rated to approximately 20,000 hours before replacement is needed — a period over which a comparable lamp projector would require between one and four lamp changes plus routine filter maintenance. The ECO Filter can be washed and reused up to two times, further reducing running costs and waste. There are no expired lamps to dispose of, and the laser's controlled brightness ramp ensures color reproduction remains consistent and vivid for the full working life of the unit. Light output will have decreased to approximately 50% of its original level at around 20,000 hours under reference conditions (DYNAMIC mode, temperature 30°C, elevation 700 m, 0.15 mg/m³ particulate matter). Dynamic Contrast analyzes every frame of the video signal individually and adjusts light output in real time to match the contrast demands of each scene. Scene-linking technology ensures smooth, realistic transitions when dark and bright sequences alternate rapidly — eliminating the jarring shifts that fixed-contrast systems produce. The result is a 3,000,000:1 Full On/Full Off contrast ratio (DYNAMIC mode, DYNAMIC CONTRAST set to 1, per ISO/IEC 21118:2020) that renders deep shadow detail with precision while keeping text sharp and legible. Because light output is modulated rather than fixed at maximum, Dynamic Contrast also contributes to lower energy consumption compared to static approaches.
