Ceiling installation is equally straightforward, making the LMZ460 a genuinely flexible solution for both permanent installs and on-the-go presentations.
The Digital Zoom Extender lets you keep the same ceiling mount as your existing projector even when the throw distance exceeds the optical zoom range, eliminating costly construction work when upgrading. The new Digital Image Shift function adds extra flexibility: use the remote to shift the projected image up to 10% vertically or horizontally, compensating for ceiling obstacles like light fittings or air-conditioning vents. LMZ460 Series also shares the same mount and bracket as the lamp-based PT-LB426 Series, so upgrading is as simple as swapping the unit in place. Note: image resolution is reduced when Digital Zoom Extender or Image Shift is active, and image size is reduced to 80% when Image Shift is enabled.
Laser projection eliminates the recurring cost and hassle of lamp replacements. The LMZ460 Series light source and ECO Filter are both rated for approximately 20,000 hours — a period during which a comparable lamp projector would require between one and four lamp changes plus repeated filter maintenance. The washable ECO Filter can be cleaned and reused up to two times, further reducing waste and running costs. Brightness ramp-up is controlled and consistent from the moment you power on, and color reproduction remains uniform throughout the projector's lifespan, so image quality doesn't degrade noticeably over time.
Dynamic Contrast analyzes every frame of the video signal in real time and adjusts light output to match the contrast demands of each scene. Scene-linking technology ensures smooth, realistic transitions when dark and bright scenes alternate rapidly. The result is a contrast ratio of up to 3,000,000:1 (Full On/Full Off), delivering exceptional shadow detail and crisp text legibility for comfortable, extended viewing. Because light output is modulated precisely rather than fixed, Dynamic Contrast also consumes less energy than static contrast approaches, contributing to lower running costs over the projector's lifetime.
